This is a LEGACY RESOURCE. It is no longer maintained but is usable with minor adjustments. This resource leverages NASA's Application for Extracting and Exploring Analysis-Ready Samples (AppEEARS). AppEEARS has been deployed in NASA's Earthdata Cloud space. You can access AppEEARS using the new link: https://appeears.earthdatacloud.nasa.gov/. For up to date information on using the AppEEARS API and examples, please see the AppEEARS API Documentation. If you have questions, please contact LP DAAC User Services (lpdaac@usgs.gov).
This NASA Applied Remote Sensing Training (ARSET) lightning webinar covers the ECOsystem Spaceborne Thermal Radiometer Experiment on Space Station (ECOSTRESS). The ECOSTRESS mission is to address three critical questions surrounding vegetation health and agriculture, including:
How is the terrestrial biosphere responding to changes in water availability?
How do changes in diurnal vegetation water stress impact the global carbon cycle?
Can agricultural vulnerability be reduced through advanced monitoring of agricultural water consumptive use and improved drought estimation?
The first part of this webinar introduces users to ECOSTRESS and highlights recent research and applications of ECOSTRESS data. The second portion of the webinar covers the different products available from ECOSTRESS and how to access and download ECOSTRESS data via the LP DAAC, including a live demonstration of extracting ECOSTRESS data in AppEEARS, using a real-world use case example.
