MODIS Production Resumes

Forward production of Terra and Aqua MODIS Land data products was temporarily halted due to the non-availability of NOAA's ozone daily product. The MODIS surface reflectance code (PGE11) has been modified to use either EPTOMS (Earth Probe Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer) or NCEP (National Centers for Environmental Prediction) ozone products as alternative inputs.

Terra Land production resumed May 17 using NCEP ozone input to surface reflectance. The 28 day gap in Terra production (April 18 - May 15) will be processed simultaneously with forward production, and will be completed on or about June 3.

Aqua Land production resumed May 18, and its data gap will be completed on or about June 10.
