The Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) Version 1 data products were decommissioned on February 15, 2022. GEDI L1B Geolocated Waveform Data Global Footprint Level V001 (GEDI01_B), GEDI L2A Elevation and Height Metrics Data Global Footprint Level V001 (GEDI02_A), and GEDI L2B Canopy Cover and Vertical Profile Metrics Data Global Footprint Level V001 (GEDI02_B) are no longer available for distribution from NASA’s Earthdata Search or LP DAAC’s Data Pool. Additionally, the GEDI Finder web service, which is used to identify GEDI Version 1 data files intersecting a defined area of interest, has also been retired.
User Guides and Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents (ATBDs) for the GEDI Version 1 data products will be retained and available via the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) landing page on the LP DAAC website. The DOI landing page for each GEDI Version 1 product will be remain available as a permanent URL for historical information and citations.
Users are encouraged to use the improved GEDI Version 2 datasets which have been available since April 16, 2021. A link for the DOI landing page for each of the GEDI Version 2 datasets is provided below.
Users can access the new version of GEDI data products through the Data Pool and NASA’s Earthdata Search.
