By: LP DAAC

The Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) is pleased to announce the availability of the Terra+Aqua combined Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Version 6.1 Multi-Angle Implementation of Atmospheric Correction (MAIAC) data products. Version 6 MAIAC data products will remain available and will continue with forward processing through the end of the calendar year.

Noteworthy product improvements for the Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) Version 6.1 data product (MCD19A3D) include:

  • MCD19A3 V6 was reported once every eight days and MCD19A3D V6.1 is a daily product.
  • Science data set layers for snow were moved from MCD19A1 to MCD19A3D.
  • Over snow-free land, MCD19A3D includes gap-filled Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) at 1 km resolution and gap-filled Nadir BRDF-Adjusted Reflectance (NBAR) at 250 m resolution.

A citation containing the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for each dataset is provided below.
