LP DAAC Releases MODIS WMS Layers

The Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) has recently made a select number of data products from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) archive available as Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Map Services (WMS). A WMS allows users to remotely access georeferenced map images via Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) requests. These images do not transfer raw data values, but transfer full resolution browse images that can be useful as standalone images or as GIS basemaps.

WMS data layers are published for the most recent one year window for non-yearly products; yearly products are published for the single most recent year available in the data collection. Below is a list of the data products available with a link to more information about the data:
