The MODIS Land Cover Type Yearly Version 6 data products at 500 meter resolution (MCD12Q1) and at 0.05 degree resolution (MCD12C1) for year 2017 are no longer available for distribution due to a recent finding of land cover classification errors that occurred when the data were processed. Data from the year 2017 show more water bodies than expected due to the staging of an incorrect number of inputs. A resolution is currently being tested and the revised product will be made accessible from the LP DAAC.
