On September 20, 2016 the LP DAAC released the NASA Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Vegetation Index and Phenology (VIP) collection.
The VIP collections comprise 34 years of a consistent global record with sensor-independent Earth System Data Records (ESDR) for vegetation indices and landscape phenology. The VIP collections are based on Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR), and Satellite Pour l'Observation de la Terre (SPOT) data inputs.
The collection suite includes Climate Modelling Grids (CMG) at daily, weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, and yearly temporal resolutions.
