We recently discovered that sporadic tiles of the MODIS V005 Global Land Cover Type product (Short name MCD12Q1) contain anomalous class values outside the specified range (0–11, 255) in the “Land Cover Type 5: Plant Functional Type (PFT) Scheme.” We are working with the relevant Principal Investigators and MODAPS to resolve this issue. The other four Land Cover Types (1 through 4) are unaffected by this problem. We will issue an announcement as soon as this problem is resolved.
