This workshop is presented by NASAs Earth Science Enterprise, Data and Services, Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC). The Land Processes DAAC is hosted at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation and Science Center (EROS) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Details will be presented describing the ASTER instrument on the Terra satellite, and the MODIS instrument on both the Terra and Aqua satellites. Participants will receive an overview of the instruments that collect the data, and information on the specific properties of the data. Instruction will be provided on the methods of locating these data via web resources, quickly reviewing available data sets through browse images, and ordering these data.

We realize that simply obtaining these data is certainly not the conclusion of your work but is only the beginning. Consequently, we will also discuss a variety of tools available to assist in data preparation, and will provide examples of possible data applications.

This is an introductory level workshop. No experience with ASTER or MODIS Data is required. The LP DAAC User Services team will be ready to assist both first time and advanced ASTER and MODIS data users.
