Effective July 29, 2009, the Land Processes (LP) Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) no longer will accept billable ASTER orders. This change affects all current billable ASTER products, including ASTER Level 1, 2, and 3 data.

The LP DAAC will process all billable orders submitted on or before July 29, 2009 under the current pricing policy. The deadline to submit payment to the LP DAAC for outstanding orders will be August 5, 2009. After July 29, billable ASTER data must be ordered and purchased through the Earth Remote Sensing Data Analysis Center (ERSDAC) ASTER GDS Web site (Japan).

The LP DAAC will continue to maintain the full archive of ASTER Level 1A data. Approved NASA-affiliated users and Federal Partners may continue to order ASTER data through Reverb and GloVis. The LP DAAC will continue to offer all users access to the most recent two years of ASTER Level 1B data for the U.S. and its territories through the LP DAAC Data Pool. Data Acquisition Requests (DARs) will also continue to be supported by the U.S. ASTER Team and LP DAAC.

Please contact LP DAAC User Services regarding additional information questions.
