The LP DAAC released the MODIS V051 Vegetation Continuous Fields (VCF) product on February 11, 2015. Identified by the short name MOD44B, the Terra MODIS VCF product is a sub-pixel-level representation of surface vegetation cover estimates globally. The new Version 5.1 added two new data layers, which are the Percent Non-Tree Vegetation layer and the Percent Bare layer.
