NASA Earthdata’s User Profile series recently featured Dr. Helen Poulos, a plant ecologist studying how forest fire regimes have changed in the southwest United States in response to climate change and other human impacts. Dr. Poulos is also a member of the LP DAAC User Working Group (UWG) where she provides insights and feedback on LP DAAC activities. In her research, Dr. Poulos make use of data from multiple LP DAAC data collections including Ecosystem Spaceborne Thermal Radiometer Experiment on the International Space Station (ECOSTRESS), Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer Global Digital Elevation Model (ASTGTM), and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS). Dr. Poulos accesses these data collection using NASA's Application for Extracting and Exploring Analysis Ready Samples (AppEEARS).
