Release of AppEEARS Version 3.58 - New Versions of SMAP Products Are Now Available!

Version 3.58 of the Application for Extracting and Exploring Analysis Ready Samples (AppEEARS) has been released. This release adds the latest versions of Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) products distributed by the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) DAAC. These newly added data products are:

• Level-3 Radiometer Global Daily 36 km EASE-Grid Soil Moisture Version 9 (SPL3SMP.009)
• Enhanced Level-3 Radiometer Global Daily 9 km EASE-Grid Soil Moisture Version 6 (SPL3SMP_E.006)
• Level-3 Radiometer Northern Hemisphere Daily 36 km EASE-Grid Freeze/Thaw State Version 4 (SPL3FTP.004)
• Level-4 Global Daily 9 km Carbon Net Ecosystem Exchange Version 7 (SPL4CMDL.007)
• Level-4 Global 9 km Surface and Root Zone Soil Moisture Geophysical Data Version 7 (SPL4SMGP.007)

The previous version of level-4 SMAP data products including SPL4CMDL.006 and SPL4SMGP.006 have been removed in this release. The older version of level-3 products will be removed in future releases when the historical processing of those products is completed.

AppEEARS provides access to a wide range of geospatial data from multiple federal archives, including MODIS aboard the Terra and Aqua satellites, the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission, Daymet gridded weather parameters, and population information from the Gridded Population of the World (GPW) collection.
