Similar to the May 25, 2024, event, the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) mission experienced another Global Positioning System (GPS) anomaly that started at 21:46:00 UTC on July 09, 2024 . This anomaly caused significant degradation in geolocation performance for Suomi NPP VIIRS data. Forward processing has been suspended for Suomi NPP VIIRS data products. Version 1 Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF)/Albedo and all version 2 data products are impacted, as well as other data products that rely on Suomi NPP VIIRS data as inputs. An update will be posted once the issue has been resolved.
