Update: The extended preventive maintenance has been postposted to ensure the USGS EROS Center and NASA LP DAAC can continue supporting the U.S. Forest Service’s critical response to the ongoing California wildfires.

The USGS EROS Center, where the LP DAAC is located, will be having an Extended Preventative Maintenance (PM) period on Friday, January 10 through Sunday, January 12, 2025. As we prepare for this PM, access to on-premises LP DAAC data, tools, and services will be unavailable from 12:00 pm on Friday, January 10 until 12:00 pm Central Time (CT) on Sunday, January 12, 2025 while we work to bring the services back online.

The following LP DAAC tools will be unavailable during this time: The LP DAAC Data Pool, the LP DAAC Website, the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) Data Acquisition Request (DAR) Tool, the ASTER Emergency Scheduling Interface and Control System (AESICS), and the ASTER Expedited Data Set (EDS) archive. LP DAAC access will also be unavailable from OPeNDAP, and ordering of LP DAAC data using the Simple, Scalable, Script-Based Science Processor for Missions (S4PM) will be unavailable during this time. The Application for Extracting and Exploring Analysis Ready Samples (AppEEARS) will be available and accepting orders during this time. However, requests may take longer than usual to complete during the maintenance period.

Thank you for your patience during this extended downtime. We offer our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
