Aqua MODIS experienced three separate occurrences of non-recoverable data loss in late July 2023. All Version 6.1 Aqua MODIS data products are directly impacted by the missing data for the dates and locations listed below.
- On July 22, 2023 (2023/203), a data loss occurred during a day-time orbit over Eastern Africa and Eastern Europe. The impacted granules are 2023/203/11:11:26 - 203/11:49:03 (inclusive).
- On July 27, 2023 (2023/208), a data loss occurred during a day-time orbit over Northwest Africa. The impacted granules are 2023/208/13:13:48 - 208/19:28:36 (inclusive).
- On July 28, 2023 (2023/209), a data loss occurred during a day-time orbit over Greenland. The impacted granules are 2023/209/04:27:43 - 209/04:29:53 (inclusive).
