Reservation required (sign up when you register for the conference): http://ces.asu.edu/urs/ASTERworkshop.htm

This workshop is presented by NASAs Earth Science Enterprise, Earth-Sun System Division Data and Services, Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC). The LP DAAC is hosted at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation and Science Center (EROS) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Details will be presented describing the ASTER [Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer] instrument on the Terra satellite along with information on the specific properties of the ASTER data. Instruction will be provided on the methods of locating these data via web resources, quickly reviewing available data sets through browse images, and ordering these data.

We realize that simply obtaining these data is certainly not the conclusion of your work but is only the beginning. Consequently, we will also discuss tools available to assist in data preparation, and will provide examples of possible data applications. This is an introductory level workshop. No experience with ASTER Data is required, however, users of all levels of experience are welcome.
