On August 24th 2021, the LP DAAC released Harmonized Landsat Sentinel-2 (HLS) Version 2. This release provides access to consistent, science quality surface reflectance (SR) and top of atmosphere (TOA) brightness data from the Operational Land Imager (OLI) aboard the joint NASA/USGS Landsat 8 satellite (HLSL30 v2.0) and the Multi-Spectral Instrument (MSI) aboard the European Space Agency (ESA) Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B satellites (HLSS30 v2.0). At the time of the release, challenges in the acquisition of source input data for the HLSS30 v2.0 data product resulted in data gaps and increased latency in delivery of this data product. Work toward a solution is ongoing, and the data gaps are slowly being filled. To help users search, download, and update local copies of HLS data, the LP DAAC is releasing the HLS Bulk Download helper script.

The HLS Bulk Download helper script has two functions: 1) search and download HLS granules that meet user specified search criteria (e.g., tile ID, date range, and cloud cover), and 2) discover and download previously missing or updated granules when the script is executed again. Please refer to the repository’s README.md file for set up and execution instructions.
